Registration:
American Trakehner Association. Kryptic is an ATA registered Trakehner stud colt out of an ATA approved
Preliminary Stud Book Anglo-Trakehner mare, Karoline's Traum.
Description: Kryptic is a gentle and attentive stallion. He is
confident, steady and a quick learner. As an athletic colt, he could be seen racing his pasture mates at full
speed and jumping logs in the field for fun. Kryptic has correct conformation, a balanced and uphill topline
with excellent angulation of shoulders and haunches. His movement is correct and powerful with excellent
articulation at all three gaits. He has a substantial frame, a deep heartgirth, solid bone and excellent
feet.
In October of 2007 and as a 6 month old colt Kryptic scored an outstanding 9/9/9
at his ATA voluntary inspection with a recommendation from the inspector that he be brought back as a stallion prospect.
To the best of our knowledge, Kryptic is one of only two young horses inspected by the ATA in 2007 to earn
this score.
Kryptic's sire Fandango was approved by the German Verband in Neumunster in October 2002, imported to the U.S. in 2003 and promptly began his
show career in 2004. Fandango is by the very influential Trakehner stallion E.H. Sixtus and out of German elite
mare ES Flotte II. He is the only approved son of Sixtus residing in North America. Fandango was proving
to be a very promising eventer in California until an unfortunate injury ended his competition
career.
Kryptic is out of the PSB approved Anglo-Trakehner mare Karoline's Traum. Karoline's Traum is by the polish approved and imported Trakehner stallion Kartacz (Charbin xx o/o Aretina).
Kartacz was foaled in 1976 at the Polish State Stud Liski. He was approved in Poland and was Reserve Champion of
his stallion inspection. Kartacz was used for eventing until he was imported to Mexico and later to the U.S.
Being a versatile stallion he was used for dressage, jumping, driving and foxhunting. Kartacz had a limited
breeding career in the U.S. and produced very few eligible female offspring inspected and approved for breeding by the
ATA before his he was lost to EPM.
Kartacz brought into North America some old very athletic
russian and polish bloodlines which, for the most part, have been lost to American Trakehner breeding programs.
Karoline's Traum is one of the few offspring which were used for breeding and which had any registered Trakehner
foals. Kryptic is the last known intact grandson of Kartacz. We believe that the combined bloodlines
of E.H. Sixtus and Kartacz has much to offer to U.S. Trakehner breeding programs.

Show Results:
On February 29, 2008 Kryptic attended his first show, USEA recognized The Ark Horse Trials. In Future Event Horse Yearling Colts he received a very good score of 77, tying for 2nd place but placed at 3rd with a tie breaker.
The first place colt scored 77.5...a very tight competition indeed. It was our objective to give him a good first
showing experience in a format that would appreciate him for what he was bred - eventing, and we were successful in doing
so.
November/December 2010 - Kryptic was started under saddle, much to his enjoyment, and
is proving to be the smart, willing, and athletic young riding horse we had predicted. He remains well behaved in the
proximity of mares and geldings and has generally been an outstanding ambassador of the Trakehner breed in a region where
few riders have any personal experience with Trakehners.
December 31, 2010 - With only 30 days under saddle Kryptic
is going WTC with smooth transitions, excellent balance, correct leads and is wanting to naturally collect himself without
asking (just like his dam). It's as if he has been going under saddle for months already. Kryptic
learns everything the first time and is ready to move on to something new for the next lesson. Based on his progress
he may go to his first dressage schooling show in February 2011.
February 19, 2011 - With only 10 weeks under saddle
young Kryptic attended his first dressage show. He showed Training Level, Test 1 with a good score and excellent comments
from the judges including "incredible", "brilliant", "lovely" and "talented."
No doubt about it, Kryptic has a super competition career ahead of him. You can see his dressage test video above and
four shorter videos from the following day when he was introduced to the cross country course and water complex (bottom of
page).
March 12-13, 2011 - With only a little more than 90 days under saddle Kryptic competed in his
first USDF recognized dressage show at Poplar Place Farm in Hamilton, GA. He handled himself like a true gentleman and
scored well in his Training Level classes. Training/1 - 3rd, 63.333%, Training/2 - 3rd, 62.5% and Training/3 Qualifier
- 2nd, 64.4% (only 0.8 percentile points from 1st place). Kryptic has returned home and is enjoying a little R&R.
2011 - Kryptic showed at Training Level in only two 2011 season USDF dressage competitions and two
2012 season USDF dressage competitions.
2012 - Kryptic is schooling First and Second Level dressage movements
and will begin showing at First Level dressage this season. Please see our Show Schedule page for a tentative list of shows where he will be competing.
We have the utmost confidence in Kryptic and are
therefore retaining him as a stallion and performance horse despite his non-approval with the ATA. Since his
inspection we have had interest in Kryptic as a sire for crossing with various warmblood mares including Trakehners, Holsteiners,
Oldenburgs and Belgian Warmbloods and are therefore exploring other reputable warmblood registries that will appreciate
what he has to offer. We will be doing some test breedings with some of our Trakehner mares in 2012 and may offer Kryptic to the public on a limited basis. Please contact us for additional information.
