Welcome to the Foaling Cams of Altamont
Sport Horses! We are streaming the large foaling stall through the MareStare service. Our
cam can be accessed by clicking http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=altamont
NOTE: If at any time you see something
that appears to be an emergency or a mare is laid out in foaling position with all four legs straight out and stiff (and
there are no humans close by to monitor) please do not hesitate to call us any time of the day or night at
205-213-8452
If you do
not see a mare (or mare with foal) in the foaling stall it is probably because they have been turned out for the day for some
exercise and fresh air. They will return to the stall around 4 or 5 p.m. CST or earlier if we are having inclement
weather.
************************************************************************ 5/2010
- Sorry, our additional cameras (non-MareStare) described below are not currently available. Please watch our large
foaling stall using the above MareStare link. Thank you!
At times will stream from
an additional two cameras (small foaling stall and the foaling paddock) using EZWatchPro software because it
is compatible with our particular camera system. Because you are likely unfamiliar with EZWatchPro we have provided
instructions below for watching our cams through this system. You will also find photos below to illustrate the steps.
Don't get intimidated, it is easy to do but make take a few minutes to get set up the first time. If your computer
is "locked down" super tight it takes a few extra steps as detailed below. If not, it is very simple to get
going on your computer. The benefit of streaming through EZWatchPro is that you are able easily increase the size of
the view for better visibility and you can also zoom in/out or watch all 3 cams at once if you like. These directions are intended for use with Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 running
on the Microsoft Windows XP operating system. If you're running a different version browser,
a different browser entirely, or a different operating system, then the directions may vary slightly.
With a little persistence, however, the live video should still be functional!
STEP 1:
Open Internet Explorer, and browse to "http://altamontsporthorses.no-ip.biz". (Without quotation marks and without "www"!) It may
take 5 minutes or so to load or for your computer to prompt you the first time you go to this page on your computer.
The screen will usually be black if this occuring. Be patient, grab a refreshing beverage and let your computer do it's
thing. Again, it will only take this long the first time you load the page. If you wait
and nothing occurs please go on to Step 2. There are directions for handling blocks from your computer.
STEP 2: At the black EZWatchPRO page, click anywhere on the left image
beneath "Remote Live Viewer." If you do not see this image please follow the directions
below to give your computer permission to access.
| STEP 2 |

|
NOTE: Many times, (usually only
the first time you access the Remote Live Viewer), a security warning
will appear at the very top of the browser window, which will read
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer stopped this
site from installing an ActiveX control on your computer. Click here
for options..." Should this happen to you, follow the directions
below:
A. Click the warning bar, and select "Install
ActiveX Control." IF the next IE Security Warning window
reads "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to install this software?", with regards to WebViewS.cab,
and the buttons read INSTALL and DON'T INSTALL, follow step B.
B. Click INSTALL. (This installs the decoder for our live video streaming software, and is 100% trustworthy-
the software publisher for EZWatchPro is simply not on Microsoft's list of verified publishers as it requires time,
money, testing, and a great deal of red tape!) Once the ActiveX control loads, you should be ready for Steps
3 and 4.
IF you receive
a popup which reads "Windows has blocked the software because it can't verify the publisher," with regards to
WebViewS.cab, and your only option is to click "OK," then do so, and follow steps C through K. They will keep
your PC equally as secure, but will provide you with more flexibility to install unsigned ActiveX controls at your discretion: C. Click the "Tools" menu on the top menu bar. D. Click "Internet
Options" from this drop down menu. E. Click the 2nd tab, "Security." F. Click the button which reads
"Custom Level." G. Scroll down to the "ActiveX controls and plug-ins" section. H. Under the
setting "Download unsigned ActiveX controls," select "Prompt." I. Click the "OK" button,
and at the prompt, "Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?" click "Yes." J.
Click the "OK" button to return to your browser, and Refresh the site "http://altamontsporthorses.no-ip.biz" K. Return to Step A.
STEP 3: When prompted with the Login popup window, enter "guest"
as the User Name, and "guest" as the password. (Without quotation marks and typed in all lower case letters!)
STEP 4: Click the "OK" button to Login.
| STEP 3 & 4 |

|
STEP 5: Once you're logged
in, there are several display options below the display panes.
Click the second one (4 panes) to switch to the 4 pane view.
| STEP 5 & 6 |

|
STEP 6: One by one,
double-click on each of the cameras listed in the camera pane to the
right of the viewing panes. Currently, these are "Small
Foaling Stall," "Foaling Paddock," and "Large Foaling Stall." As you double-click on each one, they should become viewable in the main viewing area.
Large Foaling Stall is 12'x 24' and is for the next mare we expect to
foal out. This is currently being used by an another mare but we will be rearranging soon.
Small Foaling
Stall is 12'x12' and adjacent to the foaling large foaling stall. It is for the "mare-in-the-hole"
so to speak. She is getting close but not quite there yet. Some of our mares are very attached to each other and
prefer to have company. However, in the event that pre-foaling discomfort and tension causes friction between the
mares we will remove the mare in the small foaling stall so that the mare in the large foaling stall can foal out in
peace.
We are currently rotating "Ellie" and "Cricket: in the small stall. Ellie is the black/grey
Percheron mare that is serving as a recipient for Ala who was bred to Blitz und Donner. Ellie is in the stall at night. Galahads Eclipse (Cricket) is a few spot Appaloosa mare who is bred to Trakehner stallion Tanzeln. She is in the stall during the day.
We do not typically stall our horses so this is our way of easing them into their pre-foaling routine and keeping them off
fescue grass.
Foaling Paddock is where the late term broodmares are kept to keep them off of fescue grass.
The foaling stalls open up right into the foaling paddock. This is also where our foals are first turned out with their
dams. After a short time they will be turned out into a larger grassy paddock.
STEP
7: If everything works properly, you should be able to fullscreen any one of the single cameras, zoom in, zoom out, take screenshots for copying/pasting/saving, and enjoy the live action from Altamont Sport Horses!
